White or Parti- Colors Miniature Schnauzers

I often get calls and emails asking about white or parti Miniature Schnauzers. Very often, unethical and irresponsible Miniature Schnauzer breeders will advertise the white or parti Miniature Schnauzers as a “rare” form of the breed. This couldn’t be further from the truth. With the white or parti Miniature Schnauzers, these colors and patterns do not represent the origin of the breed standard, as outlined by the American Miniature Schnauzer Club and the American Kennel Club. The only three recognized colors in the North American breed standard for the Miniature Schnauzer are: Salt & Pepper, Black, and Black & Silver. Sadly, these unethically-bred miniature schnauzers are allowed to be registered with the American Kennel Club. These dogs are not allowed to enter any AKC conformation shows. For good reason, the American Miniature Schnauzer Club and the American Kennel Club promote correct breed type. Serious breeders breed to preserve the breed as it was intended by its originators.

The first developers of the breed informed the breeders who came up with parties to not breed them. Again, serious breeders breed to preserve the breed as it was intended by its originators.
